Songbird wouldn't start on Ubuntu jaunty
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and couldn't get Songbird to start. The package gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad was the problem--with it removed, Songbird started up fine.

Inappropriate?Hm. That's not too good. But considering, that Jaunty isn't released yet and in beta, we'll have to wait and see.

Songbird 1.1.1, Build 1018 (20090309145106) starts, but fails to display flash content because of the quoted error above.
We'll have to wait until jaunty is final I guess. -

When you have flash installed, search for the libflashplayer.so and set a link or copy the file to your profile folder of Songbird, found in
/home/"username"/.songbird2
In there is a folder called plugins. The flashplayer has to go in there and flash should work after you did so. -

Are you sure you downloaded the 64bit Songbird application? -

I've Jaunty Beta for AMD64, and Songbird 1.0 for AMD 64. Songbird didn't play any audio; I used your suggestion of placing a copy of libflashplayer.so in .songbird2 directory, and Songbird works perfectly. Thank you for the tip.

Inappropriate?The libflashplayer.so link worked for me too, on Ubuntu 9.04 and Songbird 1.2.
The command was:
cd ~
ln -s ./.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so ./.songbird2/ -
