Songs missing after import / Sansa Clip
Hi,
I have problems importing music files to my Sansa Clip.
Songbird recognizes the device, but when I import files, about 50% of them won't reach the player, they are just missing!
It seems to be a random behavior, because it happens with files from the same album, ripped by myself.
Example: I import 4 Songs from an EP and only 2 or 3 are transfered to the Sansa.
Version: Songbird 1.1.1, Build 1018.

Inappropriate?Hi people who are following this; also see:

Seems to be a common problem with other devices too.
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate?I have installed Songbird 1.2.0b1, Build 1120; apart from the improvements and other nice things it does not affect this bug _at all_.
I’m so very sad

Inappropriate? Can any of the followers of this topic report any changes in v1.2 considering this problem?
-
Inappropriate?1.2 installed. I transferred over about 60 tracks to my Sansa Clip and 2 are missing. With version 1.1, I was missing about 15-20 out of 60. So there is improvement, but it's still happening nonetheless.

Inappropriate? To update the status on this:
I just installed version 1.3.0-1216.
The problem is __STILL__ present.
Dragged a whole album to my SansaClip.
2 of 11 songs were transfered to the device.
I’m pissed

Inappropriate?Have you tried in MSC mode? MTP mode is broken in 1.3 (that is why 1.3 has not been released)
Try to install the very latest 1.3
http://developer.songbirdnest.com/bui...
with the very latest MSC addon here:

And set your Sansa to MSC mode.
I’m confident

Ok, I did everything you said and it works. Thank you.
BUT still, this is some kind of workaround.
Would love to see a full support for MTP mode out of the box in the upcoming release.
Anyway, it works now and I'm ok with that. Thanks. -
Glad to read that it worked. Don't worry, MTP will be supported again in 1.4, that is for sure. -
How do I set my Sansa to MSC mode? -
I don't know about SansaFuze, but for SansaClip there is an option in the settings on the device (you can toggle between MSC, MTP or Auto modes). Check in the menu of your device, it should be there as well according to Google :) -
Inappropriate?I have a SanDisk Sanza Fuze mp3 player. When I attach it via usb to my computer, songbird recognized it, and I could browse the library on my mp3 player through the songbird window. However, when I tried to sync my Highest Rated playlist to the fuze, songbird synced very few songs to it. They seemed completely random as well, just an assortment of songs in no particular order by different artists. Out of the playlist of a couple hundred songs, songbird actually synced less than fifty. Am I doing something wrong? It would really be a hassle to have to sync it through Windows Media Player, because then I would have to select each individual song to put on the fuze (I do not have any playlists set up in WMP).
Thanks.

Why Can't I Sync Playlists to a Sanza Fuze?.

Inappropriate?Okay, I switched to MSC mode, and that worked. However, when I switched to msc, that created a new problem. I have a microsd memory card attached to the sansa, and when i had it in mtp mode, it would recognize the added memory space (so I had total memory of 11.7 gb free). When I switched to msc, it now no longer 'sees' that the memory card is there, so it says that I only have 3.7 gb free, and only will sync enough songs to fill that amount. How can I get songbird to recognize the card?
-
This I dont know. Are you using the latest firmware on the Sansa? Maybe this could make the additional space appear. -
Or maybe it is related to the same issue as here: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
