specify your music folders (and watch all of them)
I've been patiently waiting for "folder watching" and now that it's here, I'm disappointed. Songbird will only watch one folder. And you still focus on making the user import music. Plain and simple: you should be able to specify in songbird what your music folders are and have songbird watch all of them.
I never understood the idea of importing music. Instead, user should specify their music folders and songbird watches them for changes. Importing music makes it impossible for me to manage my music folders manually (adding/removing files, renaming, etc) because it causes playback errors in songbird. I realize you're trying to force the user to use the app, but it's so annoying that I've dropped Songbird in favor of my old favorite library manager (Amarok).
If you add these features, I'd be confident that Songbird could be the most popular library manager on Windows, MacOS, and Linux.

Inappropriate? You are totally right, there should be an option to be able to watch more than one folder at the same time, that would help us save time.
I’m excited
