Speed up sorting when viewing a subset of songs
I have a large library. I often search a part of it to narrow my list down - for example, "Metalliac" - and then I click on the columns to sort it. However, clicking on less-accessed columns like Album, Genre, Rating, etc., and sorting by that, sometimes takes up to 10 seconds, even for a list of only 100 songs or so.
My idea is: if you sort by a column and there are only ~100 songs in your current view, DON'T sort the entire list. Just sort those 100 songs and update the GUI with them. Once I clear the search term, you could choose to sort the rest of the library. Or, even better, you could sort the rest of the library in the background while I peruse my list, and that way I won't have any time delay =).
