STOP PLAYING WHAT I VIEW
I really like the idea of songbird but it simply isnt replacing winamp due to its retarded song selection playing, I don't know what I want to play next so I browse my albums but then Songbird plays next whatever you select so I hate it. I tried a now playing list addon but it just showed me what it was randomly changing to, I'd really like to see this changed and for my brief playing with songbird I really loved the addons and especially the lyrics but until this changes I'm reinstalling winamp

Inappropriate?I agree with your idea this is something that also bugs me.
But the now playig add-on is working.
I know it sometimes doesn`t show what you expect it to show.
But if you use the queue commands it changes from now playing to custom playlist. and this is very good.
The only thing is that it is sometimes still very slow!
I too hope that this issues will receive more attention by the developers.
However I still prefer the bird over the amp!
I hate the constant updates............ -
Inappropriate?I agree entirely. In iTunes, the problem was similar in that once I started looking elsewhere, it would stop playing altogether after the song finished. A question thread was also posted about this here: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
If the Now Playing list isn't built into Songbird, the program should at least be able to maintain the playlist it made by the double-clicking of a song. I rarely want to listen to the first song of what I have recently selected (even though it sure beats the demanding silence that iTunes creates). I am really hoping that this is fixed soon, because I am generally doing something in my music library other than staring at the songs I have playing. I always feel like I'm on the clock when a calm classical song has 3 seconds left and I'm editing the tags of a punk artist or something :P
I’m glad I'm not the only one

Inappropriate?I agree that the playback of your initial playlist should continue when you select other filters. I often change the filter from what I am currently playing without the intent of changing my current playlist, such as when editing tags or just looking through my library, as you suggested anna. Even if I was planning on playing a song from the filter I selected, chances are it wouldn't be the first song of that filter's list. Does anyone know if there is a suggestion for this logged in Bugzilla yet? I will submit it if one doesn't exist yet. This bug seems to suggest a previous problem of the "iTunes effect" where clicking on a filter will cause your current playlist to stop playing through. This one seems to be suggesting what I think is the problem we are experiencing right now in the first place.
I’m just glancing through my library damnit!

Inappropriate?I submitted a bug for this here. Hopefully it has not already been posted. I thought bugzilla supported html, so ignore the useless code in the post.

Inappropriate?Just wanted to let people know that this problem can now be avoided by installing the Now Playing List add-on.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? My cat walked across the keyboard, and the next thing I knew... no music. This is broken. I don't want to have to install either (a) a pit trap for my cat, or (b) an add on - if I search for something I want to click something to change playback behaviour. 'Play these results'?
Does this mean I can't edit playlists and listen to music at the same time? Will I get whatever search happens to be up at the moment the last song ends? That's crazy, if it's correct. -
Inappropriate?I like odoketa's idea, but I believe it should be implemented in a way that doesnt stop current playback but just plays the next song from the list of what you've searched
