Taskbar Scrolling Confusion
I'm slightly confused, since updating to Songbird 1.2 the song title and artist name have been scrolling on my taskbar icon, instead of it just saying 'Songbird'. I don't want this, it's annoying and distracting, but I've looked through every option in the preferences and I can't find a way to turn this off. Am I missing something?

Inappropriate?Hm, thanks, but that's a little stopgap.. Songbird already takes up a pretty absurd amount of memory with the addons I have, don't want to add ones that should be unnecessary.

Inappropriate?Tried it, and it does not in fact do anything, the title and artist are still scrolling in the taskbar despite disabling that option. If I set it to enabled, and saying 'Songbird', it'll flash back and forth between 'Songbird' and the scrolling title and artist. It's clearly something that seems to be (badly/incorrectly) integrated into 1.2 for some reason.

Inappropriate?Updated your "question" to "problem" and merging your duplicate post. Can you please reply with your OS?

Inappropriate?I'd originally phrased this as a question, but it does appear to be a problem as downloading Birdtitle did not fix it:
For some reason, Songbird 1.2 has set the song title and artist name to scroll in my taskbar icon against my wishes, and there is no preference option to change this. If I attempt to download the Birdtitle addon (I did not previously have it installed, note) as a stop-gap fix, it'll either do nothing if I tell it to disable title/artist scrolling, or if I have it force 'Songbird' as the taskbar icon name it will flash back and forth between said title and the scrolling text.
Help!

Inappropriate?I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

Inappropriate? This must be an add-on that you have; I'm pretty sure Songbird doesn't have this functionality. I just tested playback on Vista Home Premium to make sure nothing magic snuck into the product when I wasn't looking.
Check your add-ons and feathers for non-default stuff, then disable them and restart until you find the culprit. -
Inappropriate?I have tried doing so, have also tried uninstalling Songbird and reinstalling, no dice. It did not do it on Songbird 1.1.2, and now all of a sudden it does on 1.2.

Inappropriate? There's an extensions.rdf file in your profile directory. Could you send that to me at ali@songbirdnest.com, please? You'll find it in the C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Songbird2\Profiles folder.</you>
