The Birdbath is nice, but what about a tech blog ?

I like following the weekly birdbath, it's nice to read about what's going on with dev's, about contests, about plugins. But I would like some more technical info too.

I'm an IT-student myself. I know about programming and technical stuff. But I ain't got the time to follow every bug. It would be nice to know what problems are stalling the next release. What cool tricks you used to solve them. What the current state of Songbird is (important bugs that have been solved and important unsolved or new bugs).
