Inappropriate?Hi there Jason.
Are you 100% sure the remaining dupes don't fit these criteria?
¤ Ghost Tracks - Show all the broken/missing tracks (e.g. where the track no longer exists on the filesystem
¤ Duplicate Tracks - Show all the duplicate tracks, e.g. where the metadata looks to be the same. The criteria for this is the length of the track, artist name, album name, and track title.
The remaining tracks might come from different albums but still have the same name, length etc?
Poot if I'm wrong! :-D -
Inappropriate?I don't think they are ghost tracks as I ran that and it said there were no ghost tracks.
The duplicate tracks are from the same albums and are showing up that way in the library view. When I ran the exorcist again, it then says there are no duplicates.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated, as well as your quick response. I just downloaded Songbird yesterday for the first time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled songbird and the exorcist to see if this helped.
Thanks, Jason -
Inappropriate? The other thing that is strange is that it removed some dups from an album and not others.

Inappropriate?Do you think this bug might have something to do with your problem? Have you used iTunes and Mac OS X Leopard, or else if theres any similarities with the bug it might occur on other platforms aswell...
-
Inappropriate?I think that's over my head. I am running Windows XP. Was trying to import from iTunes and WMP as they had some different stuff on them.
-
Inappropriate?Ok, I understand. What do you mean by they had some different stuff on them?
Easily explained The track names reflect the changes made in iTunes but Songbird is set to detect changes in iTunes library upon startup. Or something like that at least. I don't know if this only applies to the OSX and not XP, but they look very much the same to me....
I think you should go to the bugzilla page for this bug, add your email in the CC box to sign up for the latest updates regarding this issue.
I'll add your info to the bug in a little while so the developers can respond with some feedback on this. -
Inappropriate?Thanks for your help!
