Too little, too soon
I just tried SongBird, as it has been in the media, but it seriously seems too soon! I come from winamp, and find it limiting in many ways, but SongBird gives me what? LESS.. I dont get it.. Theres no intuition or fun in using it. At least in winamp I can browse by albumcover and group by filters. Your product might cut it for an mp3 singles collection, but who needs a program to manage that. Seriously, do better, or by god I ́ll pick up coding myself ;)

Thanks for the feedback.
They know there are some important features. But most of these key-features are already planned in the roadmap. There are some features planned that should really make it easier to manage your library and files.
Other things like browsing by albumcover are available as addons, because we don't want songbird to get bloated, don't we?
There are already a lot of addons that each extend songbirds capabilities. -
Inappropriate?When you say browse by album cover, do you mean a feature similar to iTunes's cover flow? Because Songbird definately has that functionality. Check the add-on listings for that. Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that this is only version 1.1. We're only just getting started! Songbird might not live up to your expectations just yet, But I encourage you to check in with us on later versions.

Inappropriate?I switched from winamp myself and i would say that Songbird really does it for me. Yes there are a few features i miss from winamp but as times go more and more of those features are coming here as well. And this is only version 1.1 i cant imagine how cool it will get when we reach 2.0. Keep up the good work community programmers and to the core team, give them bugs some lightning =0)

Inappropriate?sounds like you didn't even bother to use songbird for more than a few minutes. i can do all of those things you listed. take some time to look into things before you start whining.
