Tranferring Playlists between Winamp on XP and Songbird on Linux?
I'm in the midst of porting over from XP to Ubuntu, and I have a number of playlists in winamp that I would like to port over to songbird. In my songbird on XP, this isn't difficult at all, as all I have to do is export the m3u from winamp and import it with songbird. But in Ubuntu, I get a mediacore error when I try to listen to the playlist. All the music is in the same location on an external. Is there some way to fix this without making new playlists?

Inappropriate?Going through our posts we saw that your question fell through the cracks. Doh!
Alright, this should be a pretty easy fix..
You exported your playlists, good!
Now, before importing them into Songbird on Ubuntu, you need to change the .m3u files to match the change in filesystems..
So lets say you have your music located at "E:/Music/" on Windows, on Ubuntu it would be located at "media/[External]/Music/". ([External] being the name of the drive)
So open your .m3u files with 'gedit' or a similar text editor. And you will see a bunch of locations for your songs. Do a 'find and replace all' for "E:/" and replace it with "media/[External]/". (Modify to your file-system of course.)
If you still need help, just give a chirp back! We are here to help.
Again, sorry about the delay in our response!
