Tree menu improvement
You might want to check out Music Bee for some ideas on how to improve your left pane tree menu... and other aspects of your player, like playing music from folders, rather than the library...

Inappropriate? For playing music from folder: Directory Browser.
More customization for the left service pane has been suggested many times. But I don't know if it is filed in Bugzilla, already. Closed thing I found is Bug 8760, a feature suggestion for more customization for the Playlist-node. But what we want is to re-arrange all the nodes. :-/ -
Inappropriate?Wow that website looks uncannily familiar???

Inappropriate?I've been desperately trying to make Songbird my default music player for a year or more now. Much as I love Songbird, it was a nightmare with 350GB of music on several external drives and my regular need to find music by folder rather than through the library. Then I found Music Bee and i figured it does most of what I am trying to do with Songbird, even without add ons... Most notably the equaliser, and the ability to view folders and external drives right in the tree menu under 'Computer'. I'll gladly stick with Songbird if it makes these simple things easier... but as of now I have both loaded on my machine... I keep opening Songbird in the hope of some updates, but when I want to listen, unfortunately, Music Bee is my choice right now...
The only irritant in Music Bee is one that is also there in Songbird... the inability to group playlists and save some left menu real estate...
That said, I would love to stick with Songbird - the concept rocks... but it just hasn't gone far enough ahead for me...
