Unable to import media not in itunes folder
I am unable to import mp3s from ripped cds. They are saved in folders on my C drive and songbird will not import them into the playlist. During the initial itunes import it also only imported half my songs. What else can I do besides import media, because it is not allowing me to import the songs

Inappropriate?Try selecting the songs in their folder, and then dragging them over the Songbird library space and letting go. This was how I imported new music just a few days ago. I'm pretty sure that Songbird only records the file path to the song, so if you move the music the program will not be able to find it.
I’m shitting on the coats

Do you know if there is a way to make Songbird automatically copy files into a new folder a la iTunes? Or do I manually have to manage my music folders? -
AFAIK Songbird isn't yet able to manage your music library the same way iTunes can. For example, in iTunes if you have a misnamed song (like Red Hott Chilli Peppers) and you edit it directly in the program, iTunes will pick up on the change and automatically switch the file to the correct folder (or make a new folder and put the song in there). If you do the same in Songbird, the file will not be moved or changed, just the id3 tags.
Until the developers or community develop this technology, there are a few ways around this (albeit tedious):
1-- Update song files manually, meaning if you change their file location you'll have to reimport the song into Songbird so the program knows where it is.
2-- Make your changes in iTunes (make sure iTunes and Songbird are both working with the same music folders), and then go into Options > iTunes Importer and turn on "Automatically import changes in my iTunes library when Songbird launches". I have not tried this personally, but presumably Songbird will grab iTunes data from the Music Library xml file and update/move files around automatically.
Sorry if this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I hope it helps. -
Inappropriate?Yeah, I guess that helps. For now I'll just do it manually, it's worth it for Songbird's features. I just un-installed iTunes so I can't go the other route. :D
Thanks for the prompt response.
I’m somewhat placated.
