uninstall - all my custom stuff and add ons remain - why?
Hey peeps,
Just uninstalled to fix an issue (unable to remove a favourited radio station and it kept playing in wmp no matter what i did)
Reinstalled to start a-fresh but all my add ons and radio stations are still there.
How can I uninstall and remove all my settings at the same time??
Thx muchly

Inappropriate? That behavior is very usual for applications based on Mozilla (like Firefox or Thunderbird).
The reason is: all your data is stored in a Songbird-Profile, completely separated from the Application-Files. That's why reinstalling Songbird usually doesn't fix problems, but creating a new profile without reinstalling does.
To do a complete uninstall of Songbird, that deletes the Profiles, too, check out this link:

This behavior is a little bit strange in the beginning, but if you get used to it, you will see that it has many advantages.
If you have any further question, feel free to ask :-)

Inappropriate?Looking at that wiki article, personally, I'd rather do the deletion of the data myself manually, since it says that if you're not careful with the command you could cause issues. One person commented on that article about where to find the folders to delete, but those are Vista paths. I found them in XP and thought I'd share that with others that are uncomfortable with running the command.
1. You have to have your folder options set to show hidden files.
2. Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\"
3. Delete the "Songbird2" directory there.
4. Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\"
5. Delete the "Songbird2" directory there.
Deleting those two folders cleared it up for me so that I was able to do a true clean reinstall of Songbird.
I’m wishing this wasn't necessary, but no big deal.

Inappropriate?I just did a search for songbird in the computer and deleted anything that showed up then reinstalled.
I agree they should add an option to uninstall every file and folder of songbird off the computer.
