Unpausing Radio Stream causes Hick Ups
Mac OS X Leopard
Songbird/0.7.0rc1 (20080731163851) (2008072921)
Encountered this now several times... Pausing an radio Streams and Unpause after a while has the effect of some strange noise... Like Hick-ups, glitches or whatever... I have attached a link with a screencast. It has also sound and you can hear that phenomena very good at the end. Selecting the stream again from the bookmark section solves this.

Inappropriate? This is expected and as designed. Streams are not like TiVo. It does not save the data while you pause. The music keeps playing on the server. So when you unpause, it tries to catch up to where the stream is.

Inappropriate?Did you listen to the screencast which i have attached??? I am pretty sure this shouldnt be like this ;-)
-
Inappropriate?Yes, I know from experience that this is expected. This is how streams work. We have had bugs around this issue filed in the past. All of them have been resolved INVALID because it is the nature of streams. The only way around this is if we somehow cached a stream while it was paused (like a PVR does)

Inappropriate?hmm... Maybe thats only because i never expexted that it continues from that moment where i pressed pause. I know about the nature of streams and used "pause" to stop the sound nothing more. I expected unpausing would reconnect to the stream. I would prefer this method instead of the strange noise which then occurs.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do about this. It is the nature of the protocols and stream software in use. If you want to restart a stream from it's current location just double click the stream.
That's the only work around I can offer right now.
