updated playlist from 0.6 to 0.7RC2 not deletable?
i upgraded to 0.7RC2 and now the one and only playlist i used to have, i can't rename or delete it, or remove tracks from it! all i can do is add more and more! i had to create an entirely new list and copy all the tracks into it to change the playlist, but the old one is still there because i can't delete it! the delete option is grayed out...

Inappropriate? This is a known issue. The only work around right now is to create a new profile. I can provide you the details for how to do this if you tell me what OS you are using.
-
Inappropriate?1. Delete C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Songbird2
2. Delete C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Songbird2
3. Delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SongbirdVLC
4. Delete all files in C:\Windows\Prefetch
5. Uninstall Songbird using Add/Remove Programs
6. Restart
You should now be able to reinstall Songbird and start with a completely clean slate. -
Inappropriate?is there a way to back up the playlist first?
-
Inappropriate?AFAIK, no.
-
Inappropriate? So this means the whole profile is corrupt? Man, that's a lot playlists to reassemble for me. And there is no other way to solve this?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?There is this addon: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/51
You can try it out and export your playlist to m3u/pls. Then you would have to reimport your playlist with a new 0.7 profile.
This is the only workaround that I can provide aside from rebuilding your playlists manually.
Keep in mind, this is a "workaround" not a "solution. The "solution" would be to fix the upgrade issue; which has been noted in our bug database and is being worked on. In fact, I believe a patch was checked in today. It just needs to be tested.

Inappropriate? Thanks, I will try that. I would also be willing to test the patch if you could point me to it.
I’m cautiously optimistic
-
Inappropriate?thanks for the addon link, at least that will save a lot of time
-
Inappropriate? The PET workaround did the trick, although rather tedious. But thank you!
I certainly hope this gets fixed before the final release.
I’m pleased
-
Inappropriate?AFAIK, it already is...unfortunately, once you do one upgrade, your profile is updated.
