Using CUDA to enhance Songbird's Performance
"Improving the performance and stability of Songbird is an ongoing focus." - from the features page in the Beta section. Well, has there been consideration for using CUDA when available on the user's hardware? This would apply to CD Ripping, audio file conversion, audio file indexing, powering the interface, organizing music file names, and even searching the library.

Inappropriate?Hi DHenson,
no, I think most of our performance and stability problems stem more from other places than media playback. From what I can see, CUDA looks to be an nVidia technology that is mostly useful for doing on-GPU executing development. Our new media core, based on gstreamer, would be the best potential application of that, but I'm not aware of anyone working in that direction.
Thanks for the suggestion though! Maybe in the future. :)
