Using iTunes purchased music on Songbird
I recently bought a new laptop and decided to install Songbird onto it in. I copy and pasted my music folder from my desktop to my laptop, and imported all the music into the Songbird library. However, I discovered that I was unable to play music that I had purchased from the iTunes store. Is there a work around for this?

Inappropriate?Download iTunes and load up your library within it. Then follow these instructions:
To authorize a computer to play purchases using your Apple Account
Select a song, video, or audiobook you've purchased (in your library or the Purchased playlist).
Click the Play button.
If the computer is already authorized, the item plays. If the computer has not yet been authorized, iTunes asks you to enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the song.
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced.
Hope that helps.

Inappropriate?Laryssa,
I'm afraid since you are on Ubuntu you are out of luck. Unless you upgrade your music in iTunes on Windows/Mac ($.30 per song). Then you will be able to play those new upgraded (DRM free) songs on Ubuntu..

Inappropriate?Another option, although possibly illegal in some countries is to decrypt the files, which removes the protection. Whilst I wouldn't know any specific programs to use, you could try googling "decrypt fairplay". The most legal way of doing it though would be upgrading them on itunes.
