Very slow startup on a Mac
Ever since the upgrade to 0.7, on my Mac OS X 10.4 (Intel), Songbird takes nearly five minutes to start up. And when it does, it still shows the "Almost done" page every time, even though I've clicked the "Check for updates" button many times (I'm definitely at the latest version).
I still have the default skin and have not added any extensions.
Anyone know what's going on?

Inappropriate? The Almost Done page should not be appearing. Sounds like something got corrupted during the upgrade process.
Please do the following to purge your system of all things Songbird and start from scratch:
From terminal...
1. rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/*ongbird*/
2. rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*ongbird*/
3. rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/SongbirdVLC
4. rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/org.songbirdnest.songbird.plist
Delete the Songbird.app file (wherever you installed it)
Restart
Download Songbird again and reinstall. -
Inappropriate?Ok, that seems to have worked. Start up is much faster now, and I don't get the upgrade message. I wonder what was going on.

Inappropriate?Sounds like something bad happened in your profile when you upgraded.

Inappropriate?Ran into this in Songbird 1.0.0rc1, Build 821 on Linux too. Cleaning the profile worked. Thanks.
I’m satisfied
