Video Playback? VLC Intergration?

I wanted to watch my music videos through songbird but all I get is audio so I was thinking maybe since VLC is open source you could perhaps integrate it into Songbird like Mozilla is. Even simpler may be even to just to double click it and it would open up VLC and play it on it's own. If this was implemented I'd enjoy a TV Shows / Movies section like iTunes has. I'm sure it's not as simple as I've made it out to be and I know that Songbird is still growing..
