Inappropriate? We really want visualizations too! The main thing we're waiting on is having a common, powerful media core. One of our newest hires Mike is getting Songbird ported over to the open source GStreamer media platform. GStreamer includes some basic visualizations like Goom and Synestheisa, but is also a great platform for developing new ones.
So just hang in there - it should be possible in a couple of releases time.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Visualizers would be awesome... Let us know... and it might be fun if there was a simplistic visualizer sdk or some such... <.< Just saying :P
I’m amused

Inappropriate? The open source to Milkdrop can be found here:

If Sonbird were to become my media center then it would have to also look great on a large screen. The only way to do that is visuals. Milk drop is the best.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?i think i read somewhere that songbird wants to use gstreamer cross platform.
Maybe a screensaver visualisation can use the gstreamer data? -
Inappropriate? Is there a way to run libvisual as a screensaver?

Inappropriate?Any news on visualizations?
Thanks.
Apologies for resurrecting. -
Inappropriate?Hi - I've been using 'G Force Standalone' - platinum (www.soundspectrum.com) alongside Songbird for visualizations - it works great! I know you have to pay for it [$30USD] but its well worth it. It works either full screen; alternatively with a vertical bar alongside Songbird. Hope this helps
-
Inappropriate? That's not a solution at all, as it is not cross-platform. Songbird is cross-platform.
