why can i not put music from my cd onto my ipod?

hi there,

im really trying to put music of a cd that i brought onto my ipod, i riped the music so it is on my computer but it still dont work :(!!!
please please please may someone help me i really need these songs for this time next week as im going on holiday n would love to have the songs!

if you dont know how to do it on here songbird then do you know anything else i ca do? anything will be a great help!
