why no run under osx 10.4.11 on a power pc g4?
mac osx 10.4.11 run on a imac power pc g4 should work.
installation attempt failed though. error code -10661.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, PPC is not officially supported.
(The download page says: "Mac OS X Intel")
So the official release won't run on your imac.
However, Thomas Legg keeps updating an unofficial build for the PPC from time to time. This one seems to be the latest.

Inappropriate?Must say that the latest OS X 10.4 Versions on his blog dont run stable or even worse. Sorry!
