Why can't I connect to the internet with Songbird?
Installed Songbird 1.2a-1065_linux-i686. It fails to connect to the internet. Proxy settings are set to "no proxy" as they are in Firefox. Firefox connects fine to the internet, Songbird does not. This is in Ubuntu Jaunty x64 9.04. Any ideas?

Inappropriate?G'day,
There is also 1 or 2 other users now on Getsatisfaction with the same issues in the latest songbird build.
So I have posted the following bug:
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
You may consider posting further details to the bug report (such as OS version, the version of songbird being used, exactly what error is shown when accessing a page, what firewalls are running and such, etc).
Hoping we can get it sorted out :D

Inappropriate?I too have this issue.
Windows 7, 64 bit, and with two different firewalls:
1: Windows Firewall with Sphinx Windows 7 Firewall Control
2: COMODO Internet Security.
I can't access the internet to do anything, Shoutcast, update, etc. I don't get the Songbird startup homepage any longer.
Firefox, Thunderbird, FileZilla, etc, all work fine.
In addition Songbird plays a few songs then stops. I have it set for shuffle and repeat all. I don't know if these two issues are related in some way.
I hope there's an answer because Songbird is basically useless right now.

Inappropriate?@Mu Variant
I can almost certainly tell you the problem lies with having two firewalls running.. And my friends have had nothing but trouble with Comodo (including it blocking access to the internet) - I would try uninstalling Comodo and you will probably re-gain access to the internet.

and if not.. try wiping your profile: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Getting_... -
Inappropriate? What I meant was that I tested it with two different firewalls one at a time with the same results. I added COMODO to be able to shut down Windows Firewall to test it so neither comment is valid in this case.
However wiping my profile fixed the issue ... even WITH two firewalls running.
Thanks. I hope that doesn't continue. I'd hate to have to continue wiping my profile.
I’m happy
