Inappropriate?Definitely need more info to try and help you.
- What operating system are you using?
- What version of Songbird are you running?
- Please provide a step-by-step rundown of how to reproduce this error.
We are aware of a bug on long tracks showing a 00:00:00 time stamp (http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show... ), but they still play so this does not sound like your issue.
I’m not sure

Inappropriate?I have somewhat the same problem I think. I have downloaded a lot of songs from the internet by Firefox, but when I try to play them in songbird (from the library) the "speaker" that signals the song playing just flips around to all the songs and will not start... please help.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Petra,
Answers to the same questions as the ones posted above will get us headed in the right direction to try and help you.
Also what type of files are you trying to play? Have you tried scrubbing your profile?

Inappropriate? My problem is exactly the same as Petra Jerneskog's [two replies above this one]. I'm using Songbird 1.2.0 on my Apple MacBook running Mac OS X 10.4.9. Songbird's browser sees all of the songs which reside in my iTunes library, but when I double-click one of them in Songbird, the title appears at the bottom of the window, as it should, but the elapsed time remains at 0:00. Meanwhile, the song selection in the main browser window randomly scrolls through several different titles spontaneously, then stops by itself after visiting at least five or more titles. This has happened with the last three or four versions of Songbird. My Songbird has never sung! I keep updating to the latest version, hoping that the problem will be resolved. Any clues as to why this is happening to me (and, apparently, others as well)?

We haven't tested against 10.4.9 for quite some time; we do check 10.4.11. That may or may not have something to do with your problem. One thing you can do is right-click (or control-click) on one of the files in your library that gets skipped and choose "Show File". Does the file exist? Another thing to check is the Error Console, which you'll find under the Tools menu. Do you see any errors printed when it skips a track? -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your input, Ali. Songbird has no problem showing all my song files in the Finder. What generally happens when I double-click a song title, Songbird spends one or two seconds on that title, then moves to a 2nd, 3rd and 4th, then stops there. No music ever plays, but it shows the words in the appropriate panel (thanks to a plug-in) for each song. It shows two error messages. This one appears four times:
Error: Permission denied to call method Location.toString
This one appears once:
Warning: GStreamer warning: Compensating for audio synchronisation problems Additional information: gstbaseaudiosink.c(1492): gst_base_audio_sink_render (): /GstPlayBin2:player/GstPlaySink:playsink20/GstBin:abin/GstBin:audiosink-bin/GstOsxAudioSink:audio-sink:
Unexpected discontinuity in audio timestamps of more than half a second (0:03:58.239954648), resyncing
In testing tonight, I actually got one song to play, but I cannot see any reason that this would have happened. I did notice, though, that "Show File" takes me to the folder but not the selected song that is inside that folder, EXCEPT the songs from the CD that actually will play. Not all of the songs from that CD will play, but all of its songs will be selected by "Show File". As far as I can tell, all other attempts to "Show File" produce the folder but not the selected song. I can see the song inside the folder, but only the folder is highlighted.
