Why won't my 6th gen i-pod classic be recognized by songbird?

My computer won't install I-Tunes 9. I have a 160GB 6th Gen I-pod Classic. I am running Windows x64 and my i-pod is not being recognized. I tried installing the appropriate add on, and nothing. I tried re-installing songbird several times, and nothing. I even tried using several different USB cords in different ports and still nothing. My I-Pod was recognized on the previous version of songbird, but not 1.2.0. Am I doing something wrong?!?!? Does anyone have an older version of songbird that I can install? PLEASE HELP!!!!
