Will Songbird recognise metadata for wmas
Songbird seems to be failing to recognise metadata for wmas: I have all my music, which is mostly mp3s but some wmas, in one folder and I have dragged and dropped that folder into the library window of songbird: it gives artist, album etc for mp3s but not for wmas. Why is this? It seems to play the wmas fine.

Inappropriate?I have only one wma file and metadata work !
Maybe you should put your wma on your Music Folder and Rescan the folder with Songbird
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hmmm no tried this - not doing much.
The funny thing is that although the artist and album name does not show up, if I enter the artist name into the search box it does bring up tracks by that artist which means it must be recognising the metadata at some level but is failing to display it...
I am also getting the message "Songbird was unable to write metadata back to some of you media files. The metadata displayed in Songbird is now inconsistent with the metadat contained in you files" etc -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem, but it seems whenever I play one of the .wma tracks, after about 5 seconds (the time my last.fm plugin usually takes to read a track) it's adding the artist, track name, etc. I'd rather not spend the time to play the first 5 seconds of so many tracks, but it's better than doing it by hand

Inappropriate?Ditto- I know the good folks at songbird "may or may not ever add WMA metadata WRITE support", but not being able to READ existing WMA metadata correctly renders this application useless for a lot of people.
I’m dissapointed. I was excited and hopeful, until I discovered this.
