WMP Playlist import issues?
Is anyone else having playlist imports for WMP 11.0? The playlist is a straight-forward XML file...this should be a no-brainer!

Hey not sure if this is what you were after but I managed to import a WMP 11 playlist into Songbird by placing my playlist into the Now Playing pane in WMP and then going to 'File > Save Now Playing List As > m3u'. Then I was able to import into Songbird by using the 'File > Import a Playlist' command.
I did this with my 4 and 5 star songs so that I could easily import my ratings into Songbird. Once the playlist was in I simply Selected all and edited all of their metadata.
Cheers.

Inappropriate?Actually, Windows Media Player playlists, while similar to XML, are WPL (Windows Playlist Language).
Songbird only supports M3U, PLS and XML playlist files.
Comparing the WPL file to an iTunes XML file of the same library, there is one major difference apart from being a different language...
In WPL, the file URLs are relative to the default Windows Media Player folder.
In iTunes XML, the file URLs are absolute paths.

Inappropriate?that sucks. Songbird developers should consider getting the default windows media player folder directory and rebuild it from there. Just a suggestion as one could rebuild the absolute path from there.
I’m happy at the ever-growing songbird
