won't play wmas converted to mp3
I ripped an album with WMP on my windows partition, and then on my Linux partition converted it to .mp3, and now Songbird won't even add it to the library, although the files play just fine in RhythmBox. Does Songbird still think they're .wma files?

Inappropriate?Did the file extension change to .mp3 when you converted it from the .wma file? Try changing the extension if it's still a .wma file.
Also, try pulling the file into your library using the File -> Open File... dialog and try to play it. Does that work?
You can also send me a sample file at ali (at) songbirdnest (dot) com. We can crack it open and see what Songbird doesn't like about it. -
Inappropriate?the file extension was changed to .mp3, and when I did File -> Open File it played just fine.
also, when I did File -> Open File it added that one file to the library, but it still won't add the album when I select import media.
I’m less sad than before.
