Zune support is not functioning

I recently downloaded Songbird version 0.6.1 with the add on MTP Device Support 1.0.8. When I plug in my Zune 30GB first generation player, nothing happens, I can't get it to sync. I am running Windows Vista SP1 and was hoping that I could quit using the Zune Software player. The Songbird Media Player is so much better in every way.
