Add tooltips for media thumbnails
It'd be nice to see the event name or any other descriptive information when you hover over a thumbnail for media in certain contexts. For example, the "Media added by {username}" box on user profiles will often contain a wide variety of artists/events, but there's no way of knowing what you'd be clicking through to. Tooltip content could be something like "Modest Mouse from Modest Mouse at RKCNDY (23 Sep 98)" for a video.

I’m
a champ? wow.. when did THAT happen :)
That would be nice, but won't that clog up the screen a bit? The image is downsized already, so a mouse-over would be a bit too much I think.
Besides that, there is already a lot of info if the image is added directly to a concert in the 'Recent activity' list.
I still like the extra info.. but I'm not sure if your mouse-over solution is the best way to go.
If the whole layout would change, and the vid and pictures would be added to the concert in the Gigography it would solve this.. but would make "Latest media for" a duplicate.-
deathwarmedover September 09, 2009 16:54Just so you know what kind of tooltip I mean, I mean the kind like when you hover over the "Get Satisfaction" logo in the top left of the screen now. Just plain text, and it would only contain the text "[artist] at [venue] ([date])" to keep things uncluttered but informative.EditDeleteRemove

I think you both make good points! It'd definitely be helpful to somehow see what you're clicking through to, we'd have to figure out the best way to do this without making it too cluttered though, as Mark says.
Let us know if you have any further thoughts/suggestions!
Thanks :) -
