Concert Conflict

Hi,
I was adding the New York Dolls concert that I attended at the Fillmore in SF and it conflicted with another show that supposedly happened that day. I have the ticket sitting right in front of me and it says Sunday October 3 2004. Supposedly it conflicts with a Bozz Scaggs show that is listed for the same night. Just thought I'd let you know.
Thanks
Rip

    Hi rip:

Upon some intense googling I was able to find Boz Scaggs entire (and official) tour gigography and he did not play a show at all in October - much less at the Fillmore. He didn't even play a SF date that year.
I will delete that show - anyone can do it (go to the date, click edit concert, then hit the "delete concert button" to the right under "was this concert created in error") - as it was made in error.
I hope you added your show - and the ticket stub!
    Thanks for looking out!

    xx

silly I’m hopped up on coffee.
Cool. Yes I did add the show anyway. I felt pretty confident given that the ticket was staring me in the face.

Turns out I found another conflict! I was adding a Green Day show from 08/05/2001 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Since I have the ticket I'm going to tag the other supposed show as an erroneous entry.

  • Well I am glad I was able to help! And yes, if you have a ticket - it happened and you were certainly there!

A lot of the shows come in through automated feeds and while they are mostly accurate, some incorrect shows can slip through. Luckily, everyone is able to contribute to the site and everyone can take care of such errors.

Just make sure to look out for early and late shows because sometimes venues will run several shows in one day.

Don't forget to add your stubs when you have a chance - yay!

    Hellooo

I think iheartmusic has done a good job of explaining and helping with this problem, but just wanted to add Songkick's two cents - sometimes concerts do get added incorrectly be it via a user making an honest mistake or the source of the concert being wrong (we don't get notified of date changes from ticket vendors and for all the past shows we've gathered from across the web there may be mistakes here and there).

That's why we've given you users the power to edit and delete concerts so that with your wide music knowledge you can help us build the most accurate and data-rich concert resource out there!

It's great to see that you're both active with editing concert entries so keep up the good work!

(also a little NB to iheartmusic's comment about being able to delete concerts - this can only be done if no users have said they attended/are attending - if this was the case you'd have to contact the user directly to dispute the correct details!)

Hope that all makes sense, give me a shout if you have any further questions :)

    Emily.
