iCal feed should include time
At the moment, events in the iCal feed are all-day events and have no time associated with them. Can we have the time in there too?

Hey Philip,
Thanks for the suggestion! We're looking into this to see if it's worthwhile - it depends on the data we get from the ticket vendors. Right now, we'd probably only be able to incorporate door times, as opposed to set times - would that be useful for you?

Yeah, door times would be fine. I don't think it really matters who adds the start times - ticket providers or users - as long as the option is there. If I'm going to a gig, then I'd be happy to add in that data to make the iCal calendar look better.

I know this is a very old topic, but I came to this site specifically to find an answer about this. I also hate having events listed as "all day".
I think if there isn't a set time listed for a concert, have it show as an all day event.
But if there Is a set time listed include that in the iCal feed to help make our Calendars more organized.
So basically ditto everything Philip has already said about this.
I hope someone sees this comment.... -

Same thing here – old topic, but seriously all-day events just don't "show up" enough in my iCal for me to use them in my decision-making process. I didn't complain up until now because last.fm would do it even worse : they would schedule the event from 00:00am to 11:59pm instead of all day. But recently I've noticed that their events now start at door time and last x hours... and since I'm basically spending so much time in iCal, it makes me consider switching back to them as my main concert manager, even though I much prefer Songkick in general... :(

Thanks for your comments on this guys - just letting you know they're being taken on board for future improvements to this feature :) The more people who ask for something the more likely we are to make it happen, so every vote counts!

I couldn't believe when I started using SongKick last month that there was no time-of-day info in the events. Seems like a no-brainer to me. This is really basic functionality that is missing.
Like Philip, for now I would be happy to manually add gig time info to events I am interested in. SongKick could add a "time" field to events relatively easily as a first step, and then spend time figuring out how to best get this info from ticket vendors.
Besides the lack of a lot small-time artists and venues, this is the top complaint I have about SongKick in the short time I have been using it. Please consider taking some action sooner rather than later. -

Yeah, same here. Quite disappointed. The idea of iCal tracking of my events is brilliant but the fact it's set to 'all-day-event' makes me add this same event manually just to add the time...
For something that was suggested a year ago, this is a very poor response... -

Just here to add my +1. I completely agree. Leaving this out was a total oversight. I love the service, but having to go to the web to find start times takes most of the convenience out of the service. Door times would be fine.

I completely agree w/ David!
After a year, still nothing happened... -

Thanks for the feedback everyone - rest assured, we are listening! To explain a bit, Songkick is an aggregator of concert listings - we index a wide variety of sources automatically and provide links to buy tickets. Set and door times are something that is difficult to get reliably from ticket vendors (they often just list a random time, or even midnight as a default), but we hope to work more closely with them in the future to get better data.

Wouldn't it be possible implementing it as a manual feature until then like with set times? We're already quite a lot of people here checking and updating stuff regularly so that should make a difference. If the time is there then it could get synchronised for that time and if it's not then it could stay as an all-day event like now.
Also quite a lot of the line-ups are also imported with errors. I know getting the time wrong might be more cause of complaints but, you know, the aggregator of listings is not perfect either... -

I totally agree with Andunemir!!!!!!!!

I am so annoyed by the daily event in iCal. When is the hourly event coming finally?
