Stop the 'The' automatic prefix please!
The automatic prefix of 'the' before a band name is not helpful and incorrect for some bands

Inappropriate?I disagree with this suggestion. You can't have Smiths or Clash without the definitive article! Their names are The Smiths or The Clash on the album sleeves. And what would become of The The? The?

Inappropriate?sorry, probably didn't make myself clear. I wasn't talking about if a group already had 'the' in their title
- I was trying to enter a band that are simply called 'Hunters' (no 'the') and Songkick kept adding the prefix 'the' to their name.
noticed now there's another band called 'the Hunters' - maybe it was selecting that automatically
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Hey there,
What's happening here is it's defaulting to however we have it saved on our database.
We can remove or add a 'The' manually so that it'll no longer show or automatically get added. But then there is actually a band called 'The Hunters' as well! And currently, there's no way to differentiate between two artists with the same name (the ‘the’ is superfluous and doesn't differentiate between two separate artists).
Artist disambiguation is a problem we hope to deal with in the future, but they will have to share the same profile page for now. We know it sucks but we hope to solve it soon!
In the meantime perhaps you could make a note at the bottom of the artist profile page explaining that there's two artists.

Or for the individual show you can explain which band it is in the 'Additional details' section (under 'Edit concert'):

Let me know if you have any further questions!
Thanks,
Emily. -
Inappropriate?Artist disambiguation is something that would be really helpful. I've already flagged the artist George as an example. I know of the Australian band (already in your database) and the Leicester band (whose gigs I've attended). The resulting confusion can surely only result in endless cycles of George (Aus) fans deleting gigs I've added to "their" artist.
I’m hopeful that you can implement this soon
