Why does Songkicker not work with other audio players?

For now, the Songkicker is only compatible with iTunes largely because that's the player that over 90% of our users use. We went with the majority use case so we could build something that worked well and was easy to manage. Unfortunately, we don't have the bandwidth to support other media players right now, but it's not something we're ruling out by any means.

We're keeping an eye on requests for it to work with other players, the more requests we get, the more likely we are to consider building it!

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the media player Songbird (http://getsongbird.com/), but with that you can get a Songkick add-on called 'Concerts' which if you install, will show you upcoming shows for your artists within the media player itself.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I know that this sort of thing is geared towards the current/iPod generation, but there are plenty of us out there that avoid Apple hardware and being sucked into their software event horizon, never to escape.

I'd like to request a some functionality with WinAmp, as that's a very widely used player and also has plug-in architecture (though we're reaching the limit of my technical knowledge in this area).

Another request for media monkey, it is the king of media players and an application for it from song kick would be superb.

Foobar2000 would be great.

I'm sure I read in Billboard that one could allow songkick access to my pc music library to start tracking artists... but I cannot see how to do this. Is this possible - I have too many bands in my pc library to type out each one to track!
