Songs play in "Mono" not "Stereo"
Songza is a great way to get a preview of a song, but it's not useful for really listening, because (from the samples that I have tried), the songs play in Mono, not Stereo.
It makes me feel sad that the recordings are in Mono. (I feel similiarly frustrated with YouTube; it's a rotten way to watch music videos!)
Stereo sound recordings have been around for more than 50 years. Why is monophonic sound still being even considered?

Inappropriate?Hi Danwood,
I agree with your thoughts -- it would be nice to receive high-quality, stereo recordings via stream. To answer your question, though, I believe that most streaming sources are currently using mono as a way to serve content more quickly and with less bandwidth.
Songza, itself, helps users preview songs via stream, with the intent that they will then purchase the songs for increased portability and fidelity. If you click on the "Buy Link," located in the Currently Playing box, you will be taken to a site (Amazon or Amie Street), where you'll be able to buy the high quality, stereo version of the song.
Hope that answers your question. Thanks, again, for the great feedback.
Best regards,
Scott
