Both the issue with imeem songs not loading until you've returned focus to the tab containing Songza and the issue with songs occasionally skipping ahead early are definitely known ones and we're looking into different solutions right now. Although the problem of songs skipping the final 10-30 seconds might have the same symptoms as the problem being reported when this thread was first created, the source of the issue is now different so we're looking at newer solutions.
We do have a number of temporary solutions in place that should alleviate much of the problem, but you will still sometimes see the early jumps forward.
Unfortunately the technical details are fairly tricky and though we're trying to solve this issue as quickly as possible it might take a some time before we have a 100% fix pushed out to the site.

Inappropriate?Bugs the hell out of me. Can't figure out what makes it do it.
I have found that if I replay the song it will go all the way through sometimes. Most times not, however.

I am using Pandora more and more because of this problem.

I've also experienced that some songs only play for a few seconds before songza skips to the next one. Very annoying. -

First off, I'm so sorry to hear that you're having difficulties with Songza. We're working very hard to squash any of the bugs associated with the new changeover and sincerely appreciate your feedback to help us troubleshoot quickly.
Can you please provide links to your playlist and mention any songs where this is occurring?
My first thought is that the couple of seconds it takes to load the Imeem player is getting trimmed off the end of the song. If I can take a look at a few of the ones you're seeing, it will be tremendously helpful in confirming and fixing this.

American Idiot is being totally skipped today. Yesterday all of the Billy Talent songs had the ends cut off of them by about 1 minute.
I've noticed that this behavior changes if I'm on the page in my browser (Firefox 3.0). I can't really say what it does, it just does it differently and not at all consistently...like sometimes it will not advance to the next song if I don't have the songza page up in my browser--i.e. active at that moment--and as soon as I switch back to it, it either skips the rest of the song, skips the next song or continues to hang.

Inappropriate?The songs seem to play all the way through if I'm actively using Songza (looking up a song to add to my playlist, etc.). The song is often cut off before it's 50% played.

Inappropriate?This happens to me too. The first 10-30 seconds of a song will be played and then it will skip on to the next. I can back it up using the left arrow and most of the time the song will then play. This is making me use pandora instead, which I would rather not, but I have to run this in the background at work and dont have time to keep skipping it back.

Inappropriate?It's doing it to my playlist's as well :( I really like the idea of songza but i cant seem to get through a whole song without it going to the next one. I really would like to use songza but Pandora is being much smoother at this time.
Also have you looked into making more than one playlist? I have had to create multiple accounts to make more than one playlist, is there a way around this?

We've recently made a number of changes to the behind-the-scenes of Songza, and one of the fixes we've included is that songs will now complete properly and advance to the next one smoothly - that means no more jumping 30 seconds prior to completion.
Of course, if anyone does still see issues with this, it would be great if you could let me know here by including your playlist and any songs on which you're seeing this problem.

Inappropriate?I've noticed the cutting-short problem on occasion as well. It doesn't seem to have any pattern; it happens with both youtube songs and imeem, any song anytime. Frustrating.

Inappropriate?I'm also finding it happens on songs. Not only the last 30 seconds either... sometimes after just 10 seconds into the song, it jumps over. Also, when the tab in Firefox isn't in focus, the next song in the playlist doesn't go...
I've noticed that the songs that skip start loading with the "classic" iMeem player (ie the one that was in use before yesterday), then refresh and show the "new" one (ie from yesterday to present). The biggest telltale is that the timestamp showing the length of the song disappears, but it's not 100% consistent.

I'm still having the same issue as described above most times I visit Songza. Maybe five percent of my visits, everything works fine. On the rest, songs cut out a good 30 seconds before they end, and I frequently have to go in and manually tell it to move on.
My playlist is at http://www.songza.com/snarkophagus. Happens on every song when it happens, but in those five percent or so visits every single song works just fine. I listened this evening to try to pin down a problem song, and can't find one.
Seeing you all in here acknowledging the issue and trying so hard to fix it gives me the warm fuzzies, though. Thanks for all your hard work! -

Thanks for the reply. I've also noticed that when pausing an iMeem song, yes the playback stops, but the song still skips to the next one after the song is "done" (ie after the length of time the song would take has elapsed).
