5000+ Contacts is Crashing Soocial!
Hi,
I have tried both a phone sync and mac sync with my 5,000+ addressbook. Both times, the Sync crashes completely.
Can you guys debug large-addressbook syncs, and roll out some updates asap?

Sorry for the hassle, servers were really busy the last few day after a update we did. That might be the reason, but I am not sure. The sync just kind of stops without an error on our end.
You say the sync crashes completely, that sounds like it doesn't just stop but that other things happen that are not supposed to? Can you describe what is happening then? -

Only my highrise sync works, which is 143 out of 5,000 active contacts.
Today, I tried another Gmail sync and it looks like it worked.
I get sync errors when I do a either a Mac Sync or a Phone sync with Soocial. That's why I think its an error with having so many contacts. What's the most number of contacts that you've ever tested Soocial with?
I tried this today:
1. Mac Sync
I am trying to sync the 5000 contacts from Mac to Soocial, since I had to download them from Plaxo, since Plaxo has the latest copy plus the Plaxo-Gmail sync doesn't work either!!! So I need to merge the Soocial-Gmail addressbook with the Mac addressbook.
The latest copy is on Mac Addressbook.
The Mac sync errors out without adding any contacts from the Mac to Soocial:
One time, the error was 'Error sending msg 0 receiving msg 1.' And anytime I sync, I get "resolve duplicates" window on the mac, then it still says "Never Synced yet" and the contacts are not in the Soocial addr book.
Please check the log.
I tried this 3-4 months ago:
2. Phone Sync
I tried the phone sync from soocial to my phone, using the SyncML tool. It would do about 1800 contacts, and then crash out with half the contacts moved onto the phone, and half not.

Inappropriate?Hey Mark, we'd like to look in to it and get you o a syncing state. It is just that right now we are having some problems with our servers being really busy after an update we did. We are trying to solve that first. I am sure things won't work with you 5000+ right now.

Also, I like the product, but is the +5k contacts also causing problems with MS Outlook 2007 add-on? This is my 2nd time getting excited about the service, installing the add-on, and MS OL getting so unstable (multiple freezes on sync) that I have to un-install it to continue.
Like I said, love your service, but can't take advantage until MS OL add-on instability has another round of fixes.
Do let me know when one is out.
