Contacts on e71 show up with no phone number
I just sync'ed my Nokia E71 for the first time with Soocial. Then edited a few of the contacs trough the soocial webgui. Then, when i did a new sync from my phone, all edited contacts show up with no phone number on the phone. I looks OK on soocial, but not on my phone :-(
Any ideas ?

Inappropriate?Hey janfrode,
Can you point out what specific contacts? (first name and last name) and send that to support (at soocial dot com) with your username and refer to this thread? We can look in to what happens.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Just sent an email to support with a couple of examples of contacts that show this problem. Looking forward to getting this fixed :-)
I’m happy this is being answered by soocial support :-)
-
Inappropriate?Actually, I think I know what is going on. Your phone does not support the "other" field that you see in the webapp. If you change it to anything else, it should work.
Does that explain what is happening?
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate? What "Other" field? One of the example contacts I send support only has firstname, lastname and "mobile" number.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate? It is what I thought. After editing in Soocial we store and send the phone numbers back in a way that your phone does not understand.
We will fix it soon. Basically any phone numbers edited anywhere else than on your phone will not show up in your phone after a sync.
Maybe you can work around it for now. Sorry......
I’m sad

Inappropriate? This problem showed up on my phone as well and the only way I could fix it was to save (export) all the contacts into a text (txt) file from 'Nokia Communication Centre', delete all the contacts from it and my phone and then import back into the 'Nokia Communication Centre'. Once it's all back in it, it shows up on the software under names and not just numbers. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Thanks sue for your input! -
Inappropriate?Same here, solution I use is to delete all the contacts on my phone, and reset the device in Soocial.

Inappropriate?Hey guys,
Sorry for the trouble. We did not get around to fixing it. But we will very soon! -
Thanks Bart, this was really fast (minus 1 minute actually:-) ! Good to hear you're on it. Keep us posted please. -
Inappropriate?Same problem here with Nokia E90. As Bart said (a month ago), the contact I edit anywhere else but the phone loses the phone number after sync. This issue makes otherwise v.v.cool service pretty much unusable. Are you guys really working to resolve this major issue?
I’m a bit disappointed
-
Julo, we did make the fix but for different reasons haven't been able to put it live yet. Sorry. We'll let you know when it should work. -
Bart, no news on this issue? If the fix is there, why not patch it in? All my syncin's on hold right now due to this one. If you're not ready to put it live just yet, can you just give us a rough time frame estimate? Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Okay guys, sorry. It isn't fixed. We have to look at it. Thanks for nagging! :-p

Inappropriate?I'm having a similar problem, changing "other" numbers to "mobile" numbers worked, but email addresses still don't come through to my e71.

Inappropriate?Allright dear users,
We did implement a fix last friday. Should be working well for any new contact that gets send to your phone. Existing contacts on your phone that are missing the info will not be fixed. I guess the only way is to edit and save those contacts in the webapp. and afterwards sync your hone again. -
Can confirm new contacts created in webapp get synced to phone ok. However old broken contacts don't get updated correctly even after they have been edited and saved in webapp as you suggest. More patching underway or do you recommend to simple delete and recreate all broken contacts? -
Inappropriate?I backuoped the contacts book on my mac.
I deleted all the contacts on my phone.
After a first sync all the contacts on social database were deleted.
I synced the mac and all the contacts where deleted on the mac.
i restored the backup, on the mac, synced it and all the contacts were restored on the web app.
I synced my phone (e71) and all the contacts were restored on my phone.
But some phone nubers and all the mail are still missing.

Inappropriate?Hi Bart,
by saying "the only way is to edit and save those contacts in the webapp" you mean that i should edit all my thousands of contacts by hand n the webapp in order to have emails on my phone?
Joulio says "Can confirm new contacts created in webapp get synced to phone ok. However old broken contacts don't get updated correctly even after they have been edited and saved in webapp as you suggest."
This means a couple of days of data entry.
You know this is impossible.
