cpu hog
Have disabled Soocial on my MacBook after running it for a month or so with no probs - now everytime I turn it on in the preferences it hogs nearly all of the CPU and slows down EVERYTHING. I have changed any settings...

Inappropriate? Two weeks and no reply - still have the same issue - is anyone in?
Btw - in my original post I meant to say I have NOT changed any settings :-)
I’m being ignored

Hi DK, Sorry man I hadn't seen your question. Let me have a look at what's going on. Can you email me at stefan@soocial.com and we can try to find out what's happening. We've had one other user indicate this problem and it was an easy fix, something wrong with his iSync settings. -
Inappropriate?emailed and awaiting reply :-)
-
Hi DK, replied to your email straight away! Sent it from my personal email, might be caught in your spam filter? -
Inappropriate?had some discussions but now gone quiet for the past couple of weeks again even with a chasing email - hassle free?

Inappropriate?Hey DK, we need our Mac OS guy to look at this. He hasn't been in for a few weeks. We also don't get this from other users so far.
Have you tried to remove the Soocial prefpane (first turn it off) and reinstall by downloading it from:
http://www.soocial.com/connections/os...
Also try to turn off Isync:
Open Isync
Goto "Isync" in the menu bar
Preference
Uncheck "enable syncing on this computer"
Close Isync
Now turn syncing back on by reversingthis process:
Open Isync
Goto "Isync" in the menu bar
Preference
Check "enable syncing on this computer"
Sometimes this has helped people by slving problem with the Soocial application on the Mac.
Again sorry for not having the Hassle free expreience and our slacky replies.
We want to solve this for you.
I’m glad you haven't given up on us

Inappropriate?appreciate the response bart - did everything you said and same issue.
just uninstalled everything again although was left with the soocial menu icon still doing its thing - had to shut it down in the 'activity monitor'.
if your mac person has anything else to add please holler -
Inappropriate? The soocial menu icon gets left behind if you uninstall the prefpane without first turning it off.
I'l pass you on to "mac person" -
Inappropriate?Hi, I'm the "Mac guy". I'm not aware of a CPU hog problem in the Soocial Sync conduit either.
As Soocials Sync is "just" a client to SyncServices that processes gives changes to SyncServices, lets it do its work and then translates SyncServices changes into a form that Soocial can understand, there are many places where it can go wrong.
The most likely reason for your problem is SyncServices having an inconsistent database and thus running into a loop somewhere while processing the data that Soocial gave to it. You might want to reset SyncServices Database as described in this Support Document: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627 Be sure to make a Backup in AddressBook and iCal before doing that! -
Inappropriate?thanx for the suggestions. i have previously uninstalled soocial and your response has reminded me to delete my account online as well.
this issue has been going on for well over a month and i gave lots of details re: my logs etc to your colleagues to no avail - and on a few occasions had to chase up ongoing correspondence. simply too much bother and i haven't the time. not being glib just truthful.
appreciate all previous suggestions and afraid for me this certainly wasn't hassle free :-(
good luck with things...
I’m sad

Inappropriate?OH no DK you gave up. Sorry man we frustrated you that much. We would really be interested to get you and Gernot finding the source of the problem.
Would you consider trying once more? Part of the slacking on our side was that we did not have a dedicated support person. We do now. It is I.
OK let us know.
I’m sorry we got DK this fustrated.

Inappropriate?giving up would've been a few weeks back - now just have other stuff to do - good luck with it all
