Field mapping between Soocial and Google is quite off?
Just set up Soocial. Attempting to bridge from Outlook -> Soocial -> Google Contacts (I then sync via NuevaSync to iPhone).
The first sync seems to work, and fast. But Soocial->Google is a mess with the field mapping. I don't know what's the time lapse for sync between Soocial and Google, but initially only a few contacts make the transition almost instantaneous. For the rest to go though I have to push for a "manual" sync on the Connections page.
But that's not the real issue. The issue I have is that the field mapping is quite off, it seems. "Business" phone numbers in Outlook correctly map to "Voice, Work" on Soocial, but then they go into "Other" in Google Contacts. Why? (Interesting then my NuevaSync sync maps the "Other" number to "Car" on my iPhone.)
Similarly, the first email address is mapped as "Other" in Google Contacts, or more alarmingly it actually is missing in Google Contacts, but it's in Soocial. That's when there is only one email address. The issue with multiple emails starts actually in Soocial. The first is 'blank'(?), the second gets assigned as "Home" and 3rd is "Work". That assignment actually seems to carry to Google, where the 'blank' one is assigned "Other."
"Company" phone number maps to "Pref, Work" (why?) but again to "Other" in Google.
Other issue is the display/sync(?) of non-US addresses. They get all screwed up from Outlook to Soocial already and then that get's carried over to Google. US addresses are fine. The addresses to continue to look good in Outlook though, but look horrible in Soocial.
The biggest issue for me so far is the missing emails, of course. Secondly would be to properly assign the business numbers and the business email addresses.
Lastly, as others have suggested before me, I would also appreciate a lot picture sync between Outlook and Google.

Inappropriate?Svetlin,
thank you for your in dept feedback. We are aware of these issues. They will be solved by the release of a new version of the Outlook client. This version is currently being developed. Hard to give an estimate as to when it will be released. But we hope to be able to within a few weeks. -
Inappropriate?Bart,
Thanks for the response. It's strange that you are saying the problem lies in the Outlook client, whereas all the issues I outlined appear to me to be between Soocial and Google (except for the US and non-US addresses issue that is, which definitely appears to be between Outlook and Soocial).
Either way, I look forward to seeing the issues resolved. I'm giving Soocial a try for now, but if email addresses and phone numbers get tangled up on the way from Outlook to Google (and onto my phone) that will not be good, because all I need in my phone are email addressses and phone numbers.
How would I know when the Outlook client is updated? -
Inappropriate? We will let you know when the new version is available here.. and probably send a mail to all users using the current version.
-
Inappropriate?I'm really looking forward to that. Since I also experience missing email addresses and phone numbers in Google which do exist in Soocial.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I am having big issues too, and a little frustrated at this point! I spent about 3 hours cleaning up all my contacts last night on my mac and I thought all was well. Now when I get my work computer going again today, all my contacts keep screwing up! Here is my setup> (and by the way, YES I backed up in every location first, so I can hopefully roll back!)
Home- macbook using soocial sync for address book.
Google- social set to sync to google
Work- we use google apps for domains premier and I am using the new "outlook sync tool" that you can get as a premier user. This basically automatically syncs outlook to your google account all the time. (i have NOT setup soocial for outlook as I am using the google sync tool for my outlook).
Last night I wanted to FINALLY figure out a way to get them all in sync. I had about 900+ contacts in my work database (many were duplicates/ same contact with name in diff formats/ etc), and many of the same on my google end. I brought the whole thing into my mac and cleaned it all up, and I got my list down to 629 contacts.
OK...contacts are sorted out. First I set up the soocial> mac sync and all seemed to go fine. Next, I set up soocial > gmail and again, all "seemed" to go fine. (didn't notice till today...will explain later). I have the 629 contacts in all 3 placed (mac, google, soocial), so I thought all was well.
This morning I VNC onto my office machine to get the last part of the equation going. It took a few minutes to sort itself out, but it read everything from google and cut my list down to 629. However, a LOT of info seemed to be missing! Then I check out google's end and a lot of info is missing there as well.
Here is what I am learning as I go......
Most of my contacts are for business. So on my mac i mapped their e-mail address to "work e-mail" as that is what it is. Some of those contacts I also had a personal address and mapped that to "home e-mail". However, now on soocials end AND googles end, the only e-mail that shows up is the home e-mail. It seems that between my mac and soocial it works great, but when I throw google into the mix it all gets screwed up. Testing i did this.....
I know that my mac address book is "true"/ good data. I just tried this again by deleting all connections from soocial---deleting contacts from soocial (reset), and then setting up just mac sync again. This sends all 629 from my mac up to soocial (and eliminates google at this point).
At this point all fields appear to still be correct on both my mac and soocial. (I have 5 contacts with diff types of data that I am looking for and I keep checking those 5 to see what happens to them).
All data appears to be ok except for "title". I have given several business contacts a title on mac, and that data does not sync anywhere on soocial as far as i can tell ?
So...mac to soocial is fine---now I want to get soocial to push all that data to my G-apps account. I just went to google and deleted all contacts, so it is blank. This should make it pull all data from soocial once I connect it right?
I set up the connection and choose to "overwrite gmail with soocial". Here is where things start to go bad.
Google has 629 contacts. However, a lot of data is missing.
Contact #1
BAD>>
Work e-mail appears on mac and soocial, but not on google. (this may dissapear from soocial in a bit as it did earlier).
Work phone is primary on mac and soocial- does not show up on google.
Title only shows up on mac
GOOD>>
Cell phone does show up on all 3 places.
home and work addresses show up on all 3
Company name on all 3
contact groups on all 3
contact notes on all 3
Contact #2 (only had name/ company/ work e-mail)
all fine on mac and soocial
google only gets name and comapny- NO e-mail address! ???
Contact # 3 (basically same problem as #1)
work e-mail does not appear on google but does on soocial.
HELP!!!! LOL
I’m FRUSTRATED

Inappropriate?Hey guys,
Sorry for not doing this right. We are currently making a fix and will get back to you when it is implemented. -
Inappropriate? The Google label mapping issues are solved. Email addresses, phones and addresses will now map correctly. If you have missing or incorrect data in your Google contacts, remove and re add the Gmail engine. Preferably set Soocial to overwrite your Google data.
I’m confident
