gmail contacts/groups/os x addressbook sync

after migrating and syncing my iphone contacts to gmail contacts, I was stuck for a way to sync the os x addressbook with gmail contacts on snow leopard, as the built in sync would not sync the groups and looked messy. going from syncing gmail to soocial, then soocial to addressbook works fine, and the groups are maintained and it retains all the info from gmail contacts. seriously, thanks.
