Inappropriate?Hey mpward,
Need your user name to investigate. You can send it to support (at soocial dot com) -
Inappropriate? Our Highrise syncing is currently disabled as 37 Signals revoked our access.
We know this situation is not ideal, that's why we ask our users to please email 37 Signals explaining to them how important it is for you have Highrise - Soocial integration.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I followed your suggestion and e-mailed 37signals. There are always two sides to a story, it seems. I'm sure getting this to work is a bear, but here is what they shared with me from their side of things.
----------
"Thanks for writing us with this request. Plain and simple, the reason
we can't offer integration with Soocial is because they were deleting
our customer's data. I'm not sure if you've contacted Soocial about
this or if they have misinformed you about the situation, but we tried
several times over the course of the year to work with their team to
get the kinks worked out, and ultimately they weren't able to do so.
We're not willing to put any of our contact's data at risk, even if
just one contact is lost. Unfortunately, many of our customers lost a
lot more data than that, so we were forced to pull the plug.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely we will choose to allow Soocial access to
our system again in the future."
----------
It sounds like your syncing approach, although understandable, was aggravating some Highrise customers who were blaming 37signals and losing data they wanted. So I will sadly not expect to see any integration working here going forward.
-
Inappropriate? That's partly true. The way our syncing works made it so that some of the stuff that's "linked" to Highrise contacts would be lost if a contact was deleted/merged somewhere else.
However, after this whole debacle we proposed to implement a read-only connection (similar to what we have for Yahoo!) and they never even replied to our emails.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Sadness. That's not super surprising either. I was really hoping Soocial would work. It seems like you have something really good going. Perhaps we could just implement our own API to API one way connection.
I’m disappointed
