International names polluted by semi-colons
I just set up Soocial by first syncing my Mac Address Book to Soocial, then setting up Gmail sync (overwriting Gmail's contacts).
What I end up with in Gmail is strange: contacts with only ASCII names are fine, but contacts with accents for example, are not (Astié;Sabine;;;). For some reason, semi-colons get pushed into the contact name, the first and last name are mashed in together, etc.
What's concerning is that these changes end up being synced back to my Mac...

Inappropriate?Pierre,
Sorry about that. We are fixing the bug as we speak. We will also clean the contacts within a few hours. A next sync after that should bring everything back to normal.
I’m thankful that Pierre reported this.

Inappropriate?Should be fixed.
There is two things you can do. You can wait now for us to clean your contacts in the next few hours. Or you start over again. Do you have a backup? -
Inappropriate?I do have a backup, and I will use it, since Outlook duplicated most of my contacts (Last, First issue described in the Outlook download page).
Thanks for the extremely impressive service!
I’m blown away

Inappropriate?Hum... I reset my Soocial account, deleted all contacts in Outlook and Gmail, reverted to my Mac Address Book backup, then synced the Mac, and then Outlook.
The contacts in Outlook that have accents all have the semi-colon corruption. Gmail hasn't synced yet.
I’m disappointed it's not quite fixed yet

Inappropriate?Sorry Pierre,
We are looking at it right now. We'll let you know as soon as we know more. -
Inappropriate?Pierre,
really sorry man. We did fix the bug in the code, but that code was not put in production. I just tested it and I was able to reproduce the problem before our update. After the update, the problem was gone.
I guess you can start over for the very last time.
Thank you for your patience and for letting us know. -
Inappropriate? After recovering from my Address Book backup, reseting the Soocial contacts and syncing up from the Mac, when I then sync to Outlook, I get slashes in contact names (\ Sophie\ \ Mauriès\ \). And this corruption then gets synced down to the Mac as well.
I'm waiting for Gmail sync to happen. -
Inappropriate? This time I am pretty sure it is not our servers causing this. I took a look at your logs and it turns out that your Outlook send this contact including the slashes. I guess that Outlook machine did not make a clean start.
There are two things we can do:
1. We clean up all the current contacts and make sure there are not any slashes left.
2. You start over yet one more time, but this time one by one. So first disconnect all connections from Soocial, including Outlook by removing the user name from the client so i can't sync on editing. Also remove the Gmail connection from the www.soocial.com/connections page.
For option 2 please follow these steps (makes it easier for us to trace what happens. :
1. Disable the OSX client. ( turn off the client in Soocial the prefpane)
2. Disable the Outlook Client. (remove the user name. )
3. Remove all connections from the www.soocial.com/connections page.
4. Reset Soocial from the https://www.soocial.com/tools page.
5. Empty Google Contacts
6. Empty Outlook
7. Restore OSX Address Book from Backup.
8. Sync to Soocial.
9. Check to make sure all contacts are clean.
10. Reconnect Outlook and sync.
11. Reconnect Gmail
You contacts should match on all connections now.

Inappropriate?Excellent: reseting everything did fix the Outlook problem. Gmail as well.
Thanks for the assistance!
