Invalid host address! on Nokia E70
Today I tried to synchronise my Nokia E70 to Soocial, like I have done before, but suddenly it doesn't work. After getting error messages of server failure, I reset the connection, which had no effect. I then deleted the sync settings on my Nokia and reentered them (the same way as the previous time).
Now, I get the error message "Invalid host address!" and the sync ends after the progress has shown "Sending 20 of 1620" and "Sending 40 of 1620". This puzzles me, as it seem to have initial contact, but loose it?
The host address is set to "http://sync.soocial.com/" as described in instructions.
Any idea what could have gone wrong?

Inappropriate?Hey KMK,
Trying to set up a phone with Soocial with that many contacts on both ends is know to cause problems. We recommend, either one side to be empty. So either lets the phone be filled with Soocial or send the contacts to an empty Soocial first. One they are in sync you can hook up Gmail and other connection.
It seems like the OTA syncing that the phones do is pretty flakey. The error doesn't say anything about the cause. It basically just means that the phone has lost contact with the sync server....
Sorry for the hassle. -
Inappropriate?Okey. No worries. I deleted the connections and reset the Soocial data, started over with the phone sync. Now it is working, but I am hesitating to add the Gmail connection. I'm worried that Googles "unstructured" way of storing names and addresses, and the images, may be a source for the errors.
My primary need is to "backup" my phone contacts, so that is taken care of, short term.

Inappropriate?Hey KMK,
Good thing you got that working.
Concerning Gmail:
- Pictures are ignored at the moment, so that should not be an issue.
- Names behave a pretty decend behavior.
- Adress fields only work to the way we impot them to soocial:

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, now a week later, I am afraid the problem is back.
(Also found the same issue listed elsewhere: http://getsatisfaction.com/soocial/to...)
I have tried twice to sync this afternoon, with the same response, if you wish to check your logs. Would you be helped by some more info?

KMK,
That is just really annoying. You haven't tried since. Would you mind trying every now and then? Also make sure you have a good connection. -
Inappropriate? Will do. I did a try this morning when there seemed to be a connection, "Sending 8 of 8...", but then it terminated "as usual".
I'll try occationally during the week(s) to come. Let me know if there is other information you could use to resolve this.

Inappropriate?KMK,
I see you have tried multiple times. This is not going to go away by itself. :-(
I have checked your logs multiple times and I can't identify where stuff goes wrong. No errors on this end. I am going to send you a mail with some instructions, so I can look into this deeper. -
Inappropriate?Actually, I have reproduced the problem. So please hang on for a few days. I think this has to do with the amount of contacts. Not sure. But now I have the same problem on a N958gb. with about 1800 contacts. You have little more than 1600 at the moment. I need to get some of our developers to take a look at this. Thanks for your patience.

Inappropriate?Any news on this issue? I've been trying once in a while, should you need some log data.
I’m sad that my Nokia is not in the Soocial loop

We are working on the issue. We'll let you know when we have progress. No need for logs at this point, as we are able to recreate the problem. Thanks for offering though!
