Login Verification Fails in OSX Plugin
I just downloaded the syncing client. I'm running OSX 10.5.5 on an Intel machine and I get a "verification failed" error when I try to login to Soocial. Here's the error from the Console:
10/24/08 5:32:02 PM [0x0-0x3a13a1].com.apple.systempreferences[17754] launchctl: Couldn't stat("/Users/Brett/Library/LaunchAgents/com.soocial.SoocialSync.plist"): No such file or directory
I looked at a related article on here from a few months ago, but it didn't seem as though it was ever resolved. Any new ideas?

Hey Bretterson,
Soory that doesn't work "out of the box" for you. I have a hunch though.Do you use any capitals in your login? If yes. you can change that in the webapp. (Should be fixed with a next version of the client.)
If that's not the issue, please send your login to our support at e-mail address.
I’m confident we can locate the problem

Inappropriate? It let me login and started the synchronization. What an odd bug! Thanks.
I’m curious to try this out
-
Inappropriate? We'll be releasing a new version of the OSX client on Monday that fixes this and other issues.
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?verification failed after installing the update. login info sent to support email
-
Inappropriate?I've just added the Soocial prefpane to a second machine - one I use for travel and conferences. I'm having the same issue.
I’m frustrated

Hey Stephen, according to the logs you are using the wrong credentials. Can you log in in the webapp.? -
Inappropriate?Bart, yes. I am in the web app with no problems. I've even gone as far as changing my password and trying to log in from the Pref Pane after that. Still no joy.

Inappropriate?Stephen,
Noticed that this doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. (I know you have other issues) Can you tell us how you solved it?
I’m curious
-
Inappropriate? No change. I'm still not able to log in.
-
can you send your username to support (at soocial dot com)? -
Inappropriate?Bart, I changed my password, logged out of the site, logged back in and then re-logged in via the Pref Pane. Seems like magic, but I'm guessing caching somewhere... could be me, could be you.
Either way, it's fixed. But yes, massive problem with duplicates on my other issue. Sure we'll get it fixed though.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Bart:
As Stephen did (see above)... I logged in, changed my password. When that did not work, I also changed my email address (replacing the capital letters with lower case). Magic - it now is working on my Mac!
Thanks Stephen.
I’m very happy

Inappropriate?I am having this problem. I have had it ever since I made my account. I updated to the newest mac client and changed my email to all lower case. It still says verification failed. I can't even check for updates because I get the following error "An error occurred in retrieving update information. Please try again later."
Chris
I’m sad

Chris this never got fixed for you I guess. It must be related to your user name and password somehow. did you try everything the other users in this thread tried? -
Inappropriate? This is still a problem, I had a capital B in my email address and this wouldn't work. Got pretty frustrating, if I had not been so impressed by what your service promised I would not have persevered and done a search for the glitch so bringing me here. To add to the problem Firefox remembered my email address and kept auto filling the capital B for me, I had to go over to Safari and re-enter my details from there. I would hate for this to put someone off your fantastic service!!

Thanks for pointing that out Barry, the problems seems very persistent. We are almost ready to do a server update that should finally take care of this issue.
