Mac OSX 10.5.8, soocialSynctool hangs on sync

Recently I had to restore my MacBookPro after a hard-disk crash. After install of OSX 10.5.8 and recovering my data from backup, the soocial synctool hangs on synchronize, taking ~100% cpu.
Debug console shows me logged-in, with client and syncing going 'green' upon the start of sync.
Previously, under 10.5.6 it did not experience any such problems.
Restart did not fix it.
Addressbook shows all my contacts ok

I am running Soocial 1.1.v4558;
I have two connections: syncing my MacBookPro with soocial and soocial with gmail

Any thoughts how to fix this are welcome.
