No Google sync at all...?

My Gmail sync doesn't seem to do anything. I can see the last sync that was performed on my mac, but not sync with Google. I can confirm this because plenty of contacts are not showing up on Google Contacts. I use Google Apps, but other responses seem to indicate this is not a problem. I've even gone through setting up the google account multiple times, but nothing seems to change.
