outlook toolbar sync button missing
The sync button seems to have disappeared from my Outlook toolbar. Do I need this button? How do I get it back? I have OL 2003, Win XP SP2. Syncing to Gmail.

Inappropriate?Hey Jonathan,
Is the client still installed? Can you run it from the /program files/soocial folder? -
I tried running it from the Soocial folder and it didn't seem to have any effect. I also tried re-installiing, but still no sync button in Outlook. -
Inappropriate?Really odd behavior Jonathan.
When installing or uninstalling, make sure Outlook is not running. (maybe log off first and log back on)
What happened as you tried to start it from the Soocial folder in the Program Files? Does it run in the status bar? -
Inappropriate?I restarted the computer. Logged into Soocial. Clicked on the link to install Soocial to Outlook. Ran the software, which detected my previous installation and automatically went in to the repair mode. New files downloaded. Repair finished.
Started Outlook. No sync button.
In Add-In Manager, Soocial Outlook Addin is checked.
Haven't seen anything about soocial mentioned in the status bar.
Should I remove, then reinstall? Or should I just give up and find another way to sync between OL, Gmail and the Palm Pre? -
Inappropriate?I removed soocial using add/remove programs, and reinstalled it by downloading the MSI file from your site and double-clicking on it. Then I started up Outlook 2003. No sync button appears. Now what?

Inappropriate?I am afraid there is a glitch in your Outlook. You are following the proper procedure. There is not more to it.
just to be complete one last check list:
- Turn off Outlook (log out and log back in to make sure)
- Uninstall the Soocial client from add/remove programs
- Install the client. (You are doing all this in an account with admin rights, right?)
- Start Outlook.
- Now there should be a small Soocial toolbar at the top left corner of outlook looking like this:
