RTL Reading Order
When a contact has been added with a name in Arabic, it displays correctly. However, when the phone number is added in the standard format (+965 1234567), the components are displayed in reverse order in the contact listing, i.e. 1234567 965+. Changing the input language for the field does not correct the problem. RTL seems to have an unresolved issue.
With contacts added using Latin characters (my keyboard setting is US International with dead keys), everything is well. LTR works well.
I haven't quite got the settings right on my phone (Nokia E70), so I could not yet synchronise. But as 80% of my contacts have names written in Arabic, this issue is quite important to me.
For your information.

Inappropriate?Do you think this could be a browser issue?
It's too bad my Arabic speaking colleague (Simon) is not here today. I have no experience whatsoever with RTL-languages. Which number format is correct in Arabic? Is the number in the detailed view displayed differently than the same number in the contact list?
I’m eager to learn so I can solve this

Inappropriate?Nee, Tijn. This wouldn't be a browser issue as I don't have the problem with any other program. My browser is Firefox 3.0, running under Linux UbuntuME (8.04).
The display is only wrong in the contact list. In the detailed view, where I can edit the contact details, it is all bestens.
I don't expect you to come with a solution immediately. I just wanted to make you aware of the problem.
Regards
Willem
I’m grateful for the attention.

Inappropriate?Man, you have many names!
So, it seems we're creating faulty HTML for the contact-list. I'll make a ticket for it.
Thanks for pointing it out!
I’m thankful
