should I be able to rely on outlook sync (or gmail sync, for that matter)?
I like the soocial ideas, particularly with the ambition to manage and merge duplicates, but I'm having so many problems, I just don't know if soocial is really right for me. I don't have what I would consider a very complicated situation; just gmail and outlook.
* I am getting duplicates over and over. every time I sync with outlook the same contact appears yet another time on soocial. up to 7 times now!
* changes don't seem to make it back to outlook. i deleted and edited some contacts on soocial, and the changes do not make it back to outlook.
* email addresses are getting dropped from gmail contacts. at least one google contact with multiple email addresses wound up with just one after soocial sync
* soocial is continually telling me I have duplicates even after I resolve them and get down to a single contact
* multiple contacts are highlighted in the soocial web app. checkboxes are unchecked. there's no explanation about why these contacts are highlighted.
In the suggestion category, I would like much better insight into when sync operations will take place. my gmail connection has shown "scheduled for sync" for hours. It would also be great if I could have the web app show me times in my local zone rather than CET(?).
Sorry for so many questions in a single post.

Inappropriate?Charlie,
Our Outlook client is far from done. Sounds like yours is not finishing the initial sync ever. That means that we try to keep swapping all contacts. Only once that finished once, you will see changes you made in Soocial and Gmail reflected in Outlook. For some people it works great. Others seem to have problems.
We can take a look at your logs to see if my suspicion is rihgt, but I am pretty sure it is. It is a known issue and we need to do something about it. We'll have to fix it in the next version.
We are also working on a huge overhaul of the webapp. The local timezone will not be part of that yet, bu it is on our list.
Thanks you for your feedback! We will keep you posted on progress. -
Inappropriate?OK, sounds like I have to wait a bit. Just can't deal with corrupted gmail and outlook contacts.

Inappropriate?Hi Bart
I think i have the same problem...

Inappropriate?Demain,
What is happening is that your sync never completes. So everytime you try to sync there is a complete swap of all contacts. And that is a lot. Not sure why the sync just stops. There might be an error somewhere but we are not able to see anything specific going wrong. Really frustrating.
There is something you can try:
Make a backup from all your contacts. Then empty your Outlook address book. Sync with Soocial. Al the contacts now will one way be imported to Outlook.
After that your can re-add all the contacts from the backup and then on the next sync they will get send to Soocial. This will probably create more dupes though. But it might get the sync going.
Really sorry that it isn't easier for you now. We do need a better client. It works for some people but we know it has issues.
I’m sorry

Inappropriate?thanks for your fast answer! I ́ll try to follow your sugesstions. But...
"This will probably create more dupes though. But it might get the sync going. " how does the dedupe api works? should i expect to clean the duplicated easy????
I’m unsure
